About Me

I love to spend time with my husband, our two dogs, friends and scrapbooking.  I also love to eat.

After a call from my friend who said she was joining Weight Watchers, I decided to join as well.  So, I'm going to use this forum to talk about what I've learned, what I need to learn and what I still want to eat.

The picture to the left was taken in July 2010, about a week after I'd started Weight Watchers.  I weighed in at my all time highest weight.

The picture to the right was taken in December 2010 and I'd lost 57 pounds and was down 5 number sizes and 2 X (XL, XXL, etc..) sizes.

In March 2011 (left), I had lost about 75 pounds.  I've been really paying attention to the plan and also getting more activity into my day.  I think this has made a huge difference in not only my weight loss but also the way I feel.

In June of 2011 (right), I weighed in 104 pounds less!  I've competed in 2 5K events and even shaved 5 minutes off my total 5K time.  I'm regularly walking 2+ miles a day and I try to walk a 5K, whether in competition or on my own, every weekend.

In early October 2011 (left) I weighed in 128.2 pounds lighter than when I started Weight Watchers.  During the week (besides Tuesday) and at least once on the weekend you can find me walking the 5K route in my neighborhood.  According to my own tracking I've shaved 7 minutes off my time since the first 5K back in May.

The beginning of January 2012 brought a HUGE milestone when I weighed in at 150.2 pounds lighter (right).  I've found a new route to walk that increased the distance to 4 miles and try to walk this 4-5 times per week.  I've also tried to introduce some running in as well though the cold weather does not always agree with this activity for me.  Yet.

Late April 2012 brought another milestone having lost 176 pounds.  I've been following a training program to get me ready to run my first 5K (May 12).  I enjoy running, strangely enough, and the training program has me running 3 days a week.  I ran most of the way for the Oshkosh 5K (April 22) and loved it!  I finished in 38:01 and I can't wait to blow that time out of the water.

It seemed like reaching the 200 pound milestone took forever but I finally hit that number in mid-October 2012.  I am in the middle of half marathon training and not always enjoying the running but definitely enjoying the experience of having a training plan, a group to run with (though I generally prefer to run alone) and an ultimate goal.
